You Voted. The Drafts Feed is Live. | #99
It wasn’t a big poll, and I posted it on a Friday - but the response that came in was clear: 70% said yes, 40% wanted a dedicated Drafts tab. So here we are.
Why this exists
I’ve got 15-20 half-polished blogs and guides sitting in a folder. Finishing them properly takes time I don’t have right now (and, honestly, I got married last week - so the calendar has had limited room for polish passes).
The bigger problem is AI. It moves fast, and half this stuff might be irrelevant by the time I get round to polishing it. The polished pipeline is genuinely slow - voice analysis, outline, research enhancement, voice refinement, AI-ism removal, hook variations. It produces my best work. It also takes weeks per post. A guide about a Claude Code feature that exists today might be a guide about something deprecated by the time it ships.
So I asked you, on LinkedIn, whether you’d be up for a separate Drafts section with its own opt-in newsletter. Enough of you said yes that I’m doing it.
Proof it works
The first draft is already up:
[DRAFT] Print PDF this blog, drop it in Claude Code, get a fully kitted Ghossty terminal
Heads up - this is a draft. Part of an experiment: publishing rough-but-timely versions of half-finished posts to a separate Drafts feed, instead of letting them rot in a folder while the tooling moves on without them. Expect: accurate commands, missing screenshots, and the occasional bit that needs a second pass. If you spot something to add, fix, or i…
Rough edges intact, but the skill works and it got out the door in a week instead of a month. That post is the template - if it reads like something you want more of, the Drafts segment is for you.
What changes (and what doesn’t)
Polished posts continue on the main newsletter, same (lack of) cadence. Nothing changes there.
Drafts go to a separate opt-in segment. Titles will be flagged
[DRAFT]so they’re never confused with the polished pieces. You don’t get drafts unless you opt in. Default = nothing changes on your side either.
The poll, if you want the full context
Full context (and the poll itself) is on LinkedIn here. If you’ve got thoughts beyond the four options I gave - or you’re subscribed to anyone doing something similar - add them in the comments there.
Opt in to the Drafts feed
If you want the rough cuts as they land, head to your account page for my website Here and enable the option below
If you’d rather wait for the polished version, do nothing - you’re already on the right list.
More drafts are queued up. The terminal guide was the first. There are ten or so others in the folder that are close enough to go the same way - which one lands next depends on which AI tool changes first.
