Learn how to easily convert markdown into readable slack messages using keyboard shortcuts (hint: Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + F)

If you’re anything like me and use some AI chatbot daily, you’ve probably run into the frustration of trying to copy and paste markdown text into Slack.

It’s not the smoothest experience, and can be annoying if your prompt output is actually quite well formatted and you have to strip it all back, and re-do it.

I’ve tried all sorts of methods to make it work, and then, just a few weeks ago, someone shared a neat little trick with me. It’s not perfect, but it works well enough.

Hopefully, slack will support markdown soon, but until then, you can use these shortcuts to convert most of the markdown to text:

Mac: Command + Shift + F

Windows: Ctrl + Shift + F

You have to click it a couple of times to totally convert and remove the additional formatting. Also, it doesn’t remove the header #’s but that’s a very minor inconvenience if you’ve been dealing with this as long as I have.
